Bellway Home's Block 11 consisted of timber frame residential units structural steel walkway approaches, all built off a reinforced concrete podium with under croft car parking. At the time of construction Block 11 was the biggest timber frame building in Europe.
This 700 (plus) unit development is part of the Gateshead regeneration scheme and is situated in a prominent location overlooking the Newcastle/Gateshead Quayside.
Subsequent blocks have included piled foundations, a structural steelwork frame supporting the first floor concrete deck podium with timber frame above the podium.
