Patrick Parsons was established by our eponymous founder in 1964. Based in Newcastle upon Tyne, we built up an exceptional reputation for engineering excellence in the North East.
In 2007 Peter Stienlet and Mark Turner completed a management buy-out of the company. They increased staff numbers in the Newcastle office and then implemented plans to increase the national presence of Patrick Parsons by opening an office in Chester in 2010.
Our growth has been built around a combination of acquisition and organic growth to ensure the ethos of Patrick Parsons remains at the forefront. We acquired Doyle Consulting Engineers in Huddersfield in 2011 and Odin Consulting in Glasgow in 2013. Both companies have now been rebranded to Patrick Parsons.
A London office was also opened in 2013.
In January 2014 we opened an office in Dubai and also continued our expansion to improve the geographic reach of the company in the UK with the acquisition of civil and structural consultancy Stewart & Harris based in Birmingham. In July 2015, Stewart & Harris officially re-branded as Patrick Parsons.
To increase our presence in London, in October 2014, the company acquired JSA Consulting Engineers, a civil and structural consultancy with 30 staff based in Twickenham.
In December 2015, The Stilwell Partnership joined the Parsons Group. The Guildford-based firm specialises in traffic and transportation modelling, highways and infrastructure design and road safety engineering.
To increase our traction in the North West, in May 2017, we acquired Manchester-based BCM which specialises in sustainability and low cost, low carbon building solutions.
