Installation of Archimedes Screws at Tees Barrage

It was all hands on deck as four Archimedes Screws were installed at the Tees Barrage site in October 2010.
The 12 metre long by 3.5 metre diameter screws, which are shown above, will generate the ideal water conditions for the water sports and maximise course recirculation, they have also been designed to provide a source for renewable energy when the course is not in use.
