St Georges Wharf, Vauxhall

Civil and structural services were provided on this project, which delivered a 12 storey residential block with commercial space at street level with double height penthouses.

The block is built directly over the Victoria underground line which limited foundation options. 2m diameter piles were threaded between the tunnels and driven through the London clay to the thanet sand at over 60m+.  The building is supported on 2.5m deep ground beams spanning between pile positions.

The project also consisted of a pedestrian bridge passing below Vauxhall Bridge as part of the government’s plan to provide a continuous pathway along the River Thames.

Other areas of involvement included drainage strategy for the site and flood risk assessment.
