Empowering Our Team with Life-Saving CPR Skills

8 May 2024

We’re thrilled to share the successful completion of our company-wide CPR training with sessions delivered by our charity of the year, the British Heart Foundation. Employees in our three offices, Birmingham, Twickenham, and Ash Vale, were all given the opportunity to attend a workshop on this essential skill.

The training not only equipped our team with essential life-saving skills, but it also highlighted the critical importance of quick action during emergencies. With this knowledge, our team feels more confident and empowered to respond effectively if a situation arises, whether at work or in the wider community.

The interactive training session not only taught the correct technique to deliver CPR, it also trained our team on how to use a defibrillator. There are more than 30,000 out-of-hospital cardiac arrests in the UK each year, with the overall survival rate being less than one in ten. Every minute without cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillation reduces the chance of survival by up to ten per cent. By giving CPR and using a defibrillator in an emergency, we can double a person’s chances of survival when they’ve had a cardiac arrest.

This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to ensuring workplace safety and supporting the well-being of our employees. We’re grateful for the expertise shared by our trainers, and we’re excited to incorporate these vital lessons into our daily practices.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in making this training a success. We look forward to organising more initiatives like this in the future to keep our workplace safe and our team prepared for any emergency. Stay tuned for more updates on our commitment to safety and community well-being!
