Patrick Parsons have been appointed to provide consulting engineering services as part a major regeneration project that will transform a former metal foundry site into a new neighbourhood in South East London.
The development, known as ‘Anthology Deptford Foundry’ will see a disused trading estate on 2.9 acres of brownfield land redeveloped into 316 residential homes in the form of 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. The scheme consists of eight buildings between five and eight stories, plus a 22 storey tower. The development will also provide 32,000 sq ft of studio workspace that will be used by local artists as well as two new play spaces and green features to promote biodiversity.
Patrick Parsons’ Twickenham office, JSA Consulting Engineers, have been appointed by London residential developer Anthology to provide civil and structural engineering design services on the ambitious scheme situated on the former Arklow Road Trading Estate. The site, where demolition has recently begun, adjoins Network Rail property and JSA have overcome the resulting design challenges by incorporating special anti-vibration measures.
Deptford Foundry is the first of Anthology’s major developments and is part of Lewisham’s wider regeneration project.
