The Resource Efficient House Highly Commended at RICS Awards

The Resource Efficient House, a unique building project in Scotland which exemplifies the work that Resource Efficient Scotland are conducting to promote efficiency within the built environment, was ‘Highly Commended’ in the 2014 RICS Scotland Awards.

Patrick Parsons’ Glasgow office were involved in the design of the prefabricated timber “pod” house at the BRE Innovation Park, the national hub for construction industry innovation located within one of Scotland’s largest ever regeneration zones.

The Resource Efficient House is a contemporary, three-bedroom home which has been awarded not only the Gold Standard but Platinum Aspect 1 as a zero carbon house.  Built using modern methods of construction, the Resource Efficient House demonstrates an affordable and flexible design which can be replicated by house builders and utilised by both public and private housing sectors.
