The Tees International Whitewater Course was up against impressive competition which has this year attracted a record number of finalists. The team who worked on the project were present to hear the result including engineers from Patrick Parsons Limited, Engineering Paddler Designs (EPD) who work closely with PPL are many international whitewater courses, British Waterways and JN Bentley. The project was commended for technical engineering excellence and ingenuity in design.
Peter Stienlet, Managing Director, was very pleased to have been a finalist, saying “We have been involved with this project from conception through to completion and we have always been very passionate about the scheme. Working closely with such a great group of people to produce such a fabulous whitewater course has been very rewarding in itself, but to know that the engineering principles supporting the design are acknowledged by the ICE is extremely gratifying.”
The ICE North East Awards recognise outstanding design and construction either within the region or by companies or organisations based here.
