Ed Charlton
Associate Director
MSc MCIWEM CoCA

Ed joined Patrick Parsons to develop the Asbestos Survey Department within the firm’s Environment & Energy division, as part of its continuing growth and expansion

Ed has over 25 years’ asbestos consultancy experience working in London and the North East and heads ups up the asbestos department which specialises in asbestos management, refurbishment and demolition surveys within domestic, commercial and industrial premises.

As a student, Ed’s experiments with an anaerobic digester led to a role with the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation in Australia, assisting with the development of a novel sewage treatment process, where he also developed a craze for surfing.

Following an MSC in Water Pollution Control, he pursued a career in environmental consultancy and today focuses on asbestos, which he considers poses the greatest risk to health in the built environment.

Ed’s specialisms:

  • Asbestos identification and removal
  • Legionella risk assessment
  • Building water systems
