The Northern LABC Building Excellence Awards 2015 took place last week, with a Patrick Parsons project scooping an award, as well as two other projects featuring among the finalists.
The Black Gate, Newcastle was awarded ‘Best Inclusive Building’, as well as qualifying as a finalist in the category for ‘Best Change of Use of an Existing Building.’ Patrick Parsons were involved in the refurbishment of the Grade I listed building, which was converted into a hub for historic exhibition, interpretation and education.
Patrick Parsons were also involved in the design of two luxury student accommodation schemes based in Newcastle – Union Square and St. James Point. Both projects were among the nominees for ‘Best Large Commercial Building.’
More than 410 people including finalists and local authority building control representatives were among those who gathered last Friday, 5 June at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead to witness 14 projects being declared winners at the Northern regional awards.
The winning projects from each region will automatically qualify for the LABC Building Excellence Awards Grand Finals which will be held on November 10 at The Lancaster in London.
