Our ecology team works across a wide range of sectors, including residential, commercial, mining, renewables, rail and historic buildings and structures. We provide advice and expertise from the pre-planning stage, through screening, scoping and baseline ecological surveys, to the production of an Ecological Impact Assessment.
We offer Ecological Clerk of Works services throughout construction, aiming to advise quickly and efficiently on any ecological issues that might arise. Our ecologists are also experienced in supporting clients with post-construction ecological monitoring on completed developments, where required as part of the planning consent or agreed mitigation measures.
Our ecologists are licenced to survey a range of European Protected Species and Schedule 1 bird species across the UK. Contact the Ecology team for more information on the services we can provide.
Our Ecological Survey capabilities include the following:
- Preliminary Ecological Appraisal
- Phase 1 Habitat Survey
- National Vegetation Classification
- Hedgerow Assessments
- Species specific surveys for:
- Great crested newt;
- Barn owl;
- Red squirrel;
- Water vole; and
Ecological surveys for many of the UKs protected species are seasonal and our team are proactive in supporting clients in completing baseline surveys and agreeing site specific mitigation that may be required prior to submission of any planning application. Further information on the seasonality of surveys can be found in our ecology calendar.
