Patrick Parsons have been appointed to the first phase of a £270m leisure scheme, set to be one of the largest of its kind in the UK.
Outline planning permission for the 30-acre North Star site, being developed by Seven Capital, was unanimously approved by Swindon Borough council last year and detailed planning will be submitted in early 2018. The proposals including a 2000 square metre snow and ski centre, along with a 130-bed hotel, a 12-screen cinema with the largest IMAX screen in the UK, as well as a number of restaurants and retail units.
Patrick Parsons are providing structural, civil engineering consultancy services on the scheme, as well as geotechnical and environmental consultancy services in the form of a Phase II investigation.
The North Star scheme is the latest addition to Patrick Parsons’ expanding leisure portfolio, which currently includes the £17m redevelopment of Helensburgh’s Waterfront and Stack Newcastle, an exciting new social hub in the city centre.
