4 July 2023
We’re delighted and extremely proud to announce that our Associate Director, Olivia Plunkett-Hanson has been shortlisted in the Inspirational Leader – Consultant category at the Inspiring Women in Construction & Engineering Award.
Present by Construction News and New Civil Engineer, the Inspiring Women in Construction & Engineering Awards champions the role of women in construction and engineering and recognises the women and teams making outstanding contributions to gender diversity within the industry.
Olivia said: “I’m really proud to be nominated for this award, particularly as the nominations have come from within my own team. It’s an honour to make the shortlist and I’m looking forward to the awards evening!”
Olivia joined Patrick Parsons in September 2020 as a Principal Engineer. Over the last 3 years she has delivered on a variety of projects and her hard work and dedication recently earned her a well-deserved promotion to Associate Director. Olivia heads up the Patrick Parsons civils team in Birmingham, motivating and leading her team on infrastructure and drainage design schemes.
Olivia’s nomination acknowledges her outstanding leadership and the positive impact she has had on the engineering field. Her dedication, expertise, and commitment to driving gender diversity and inclusivity in the industry have made her a role model for others. Her recognition as a finalist in the Inspiring Women in Construction and Engineering Awards highlights her ongoing efforts to inspire and empower others in the industry.
Neil Whittaker, Patrick Parsons Associate, said: “Olivia has a great work ethic and excels in project management and resources for the whole civils team. All whilst continuing with the detailed design of on-going developments that we are involved with to the highest standards. As well as the day to day running of the team, she leads the mentoring of staff involved with progressing with their chartership process associated with the ICE. Olivia is a pleasure to work with and we would be lost without her!”
We wish Olivia the best of luck at the awards ceremony and applaud her for being a true inspiration to women in construction and engineering.
