Patrick Parsons Graduate Wins Young Achievers Award

16 May 2024

We’re delighted to announce that our Graduate Engineer, Kupakwashe (Martin) Manyere has been awarded the Young Achievers Award by the Zimbabwe Achievers Awards.

The Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) is an internationally renowned organisation founded in 2010. The ZAA recognises and celebrates the achievements of Zimbabweans living abroad across a wide range of fields including business, art, sports, entertainment, and music.

Martin joined Patrick Parsons in 2023, as a Graduate in our Ash Vale civils team. Outside of embarking on his career in civil engineering, Martin is a talented social media content creator. Delivering videos across platforms including YouTube & TikTok, Martin’s vlogs have gone viral within the Zimbabwean community.

Martin’s content mainly focusses on African music festivals he attends, such as ZimFest, where he records his experience and rates the events for his audience. His initial vlog chronicled his journey from Zimbabwe to the UK, when he embarked on his university studies. Encouraged by the positive reception from his viewers, Martin’s vlog evolved and expanded from that point onward.

To be eligible for a Zimbabwe Achievers Award, nominations are submitted by the public for consideration. These nominations undergo a screening process to determine the final shortlist of candidates. Subsequently, the selected finalists are presented for a public vote to determine the ultimate winners.

On winning his award, Martin said “Winning the award means a lot as it makes me feel recognised, and all my effort and hard work has been rewarded. It gives me more motivation to continue creating content because the nomination alone shows people are benefiting from the content and winning the award shows the content I create is of reputable quality. It definitely gives me a sense of appreciation and increases my self-esteem which is vital to my personal development, as it pushes me to believe I can achieve anything I put my mind to when I put in the effort.”

Patrick Parsons is immensely proud of Martin, we extend our congratulations and wish him every success in his extracurricular pursuits in the future.
