As part of Surrey County Council’s drive to carry out road safety improvements within various urban centres within the County, we were appointed to investigate area wide road safety issues within Godalming and Farnham.
We began by investigating road traffic accident data for Godalming and Farnham, before undertaking traffic surveys to record vehicle speeds, traffic volumes and site observations. Following the initial investigations, we prepared a series of proposals to improve road safety for all road users. These included pedestrian crossing points, traffic calming, junction rearrangement and improved signage.
As part of the process for the Godalming & Farnham Road Safety Improvements, public consultation and exhibition was carried out, for which we prepared the exhibition boards, a letter to residents and questionnaire.
