Doyle Consulting

The Parsons Group incorporates Doyle Consulting Engineers which, in 1980, was founded as the Doyle Partnership by Chris Doyle. The company then became Doyle Consulting Engineers part of the Parsons Group in 2011.

It was after spending 15 years with Consulting Structural Engineering Practices in Edinburgh, the Middle East and Leeds, that Chris Doyle founded the practice He was subsequently joined by Derek Smyth and Paul Fletcher, and by 2001 the business was incorporated as Doyle Partnership Ltd.

The practice moved to Huddersfield in 1983 and into its present office in a converted coach house/ stable in 1990. The Directors are backed by 6 technical and 2 administrative staff, most of whom have worked with the practice for many years.

The practice philosophy that “we turn no potential projects away, large or small” has endured from the 1980’s giving all technical staff wide ranging and direct ‘hands on’ experience of most forms of structure and almost all construction materials.
The practice prides itself on its pro-active approach to the design process - it has never shunned but positively welcomed the technically demanding where it feels able to contribute most effectively to problem resolution.

Doyle has a particular expertise in all aspects of timber engineering and early success with the design and detailing of a complete timber roof to a Butlins Leisure Centre in Bognor Regis lead to a wider recognition by a variety of commercial and industrial clients and a major architectural practice setting up a close working relationship on a succession of prestigious projects that has endured for 25 years.
