Patrick Parsons appointed to £270m Swindon leisure scheme

Patrick Parsons have been appointed to the first phase of the £270m North Star leisure site, set to be one of the largest of its kind in the UK.

Outline planning permission for the 30-acre site, being developed by Seven Capital, was unanimously approved by Swindon Borough council last year and detailed planning will be submitted in early 2018. The proposals including a 2000 square metre snow and ski centre, along with a 130-bed hotel, a 12-screen cinema with the largest IMAX screen in the UK, as well as a number of restaurants and retail units.

Patrick Parsons are providing structural, civil engineering consultancy services on the North Star leisure site, as well as geotechnical and environmental consultancy services in the form of a Phase II investigation.

The North Star scheme is the latest addition to Patrick Parsons’ expanding leisure portfolio, which currently includes the £17m redevelopment of Helensburgh’s Waterfront and Stack Newcastle, an exciting new social hub in the city centre.
