Patrick Parsons were part of the team which designed and developed the world’s first modular flat packed whitewater course at Pinkston Paddlesports Centre.

The whitewater course was built using a modular pre-cast concrete system and the latest technology in flexible whitewater obstacle systems to generate rapids on a flat site. The system, used to create the 100m and 30m courses in Glasgow, is capable of a flow capacity of 7000 litres per second.

Works included the outline and detail design of the paddlesports centre, isolation of Pinkston Basin for canoe polo course, detailed design for facilities centre as well as assessment of existing bridge access to Pinkston Island, design of new access bridge, and hard and soft landscaping for the site.
