The existing eight storey Baron House building, facing Central Station in Newcastle City Centre, was renovated and transformed in to a 160 bedroom, cutting edge, Hampton by Hilton hotel complex.

The scope of works included engineering the roof platforms for plant, the linen store, bin store and cycle store, trimming steel for the extract risers in the building, as well as making alterations to shear walls.

It proved to be more problematic than initially anticipated to work in an existing concrete framed building, as change to the structure were difficult. Our specialist structural engineers have a vast amount of experience in the alteration of existing buildings and were able to overcome the challenges, with the project being completed on time and within budget.
