Patrick Parsons was appointed to provide civil and structural engineering services for the Arden Quarter development, an impressive £40m transformation of the former cattle market site in Stratford upon Avon.

The project will provide the area with 189 new mixed-tenure homes, as well as the construction of retail spaces, café, pocket park and children’s play area. Pedestrian and cycle paths will be created on the development, providing fantastic direct links between the train station, Stratford hospital and the town centre.

Patrick Parsons provided design and detailing of all foundations and superstructures, storm and foul water drainage and external levels across all blocks. Drainage and levels had to be tied into existing infrastructure, which was going through the adoption process having been recently completed by Redrow Homes.

The scheme required a BIM level 2, with all drawings and details being produced in Revit and fully coordinated within the design team. The BIM process has been an ideal platform for this scheme with the intricacy of some of the detail required and was the first scheme of both Orbit Homes’ and Galliford Try to use the process.
