The beautiful, historic building at the centre of Barnard Castle was fully refurbished as part of a major Heritage Lottery Funded project.
This stunning restoration project consisted of a mix of new-build and refurbishment of existing buildings and has equipped The Witham Hall with a theatre, cinema, music hall, gallery, café and shop.
Patrick Parsons provided mechanical and electrical services for the redevelopment, which has been designed to be an efficient, low energy building, to achieve the required BREEAM rating and limit the future running cost of the site. The development benefits from numerous innovative design solutions to minimise its impact on the environment and the listed buildings, including roof mount wind-catchers.
Patrick Parsons made use of computer modelling for the development, to ensure that the ventilation strategy was effective and implemented in line with design parameters.
