Battersea Reach is an inspiring development, comprising a dramatic series of buildings which offer award-winning living, in a beautiful riverside location set in 13 acres on a former brownfield site adjacent to the River Thames.
Its two principal blocks, The Pinnacle and Trafalgar House, benefit from on-site facilities including shops, bars, restaurants, a private fitness suite and a beauty salon. Once completed, two-thirds of the development will be landscaped to include terraces, tidal gardens and a riverside walk for residents to enjoy.
Patrick Parsons are providing structural and civil engineering design services including master planning, drainage and flood analysis and traffic movement. The proximity to the river required that a flood area between the river and the development had to maintained, and the riverside retaining wall had to be designed to withstand any possible impact from a passing barge.
The buildings are designed as reinforced concrete frames with lateral stability cores at lift and stair core locations, and finite element software was utilised in the analysis and design of the primary structural engineering elements.
