Residential Unit Crindledyke, Carlisle
PPL undertook a renewable energy technologies options appraisal for a new 850-unit residential housing development with community buildings and a new primary school. Identified opportunities for geothermal energy exploitation via district heating from an underlying major aquifer in addition to supplying the development’s water needs. Budget costings, payback time and revenue potential from resale of heat energy of 3 primary options provided client with an excellent opportunity for future income generation.
