Prebends Bridge, Durham

Client: Dean and Chapter, Durham Cathedral

Status: Ongoing

Prebends Bridge is a three span masonry structure completed in 1778 to carry an access road across the River Wear. Patrick Parsons was appointed to carry out remedial works to repair the intrados to the voussoirs and stabilise the arches, prevent water penetration through the deck and divert surface water away from the bridge.
