Patrick Parsons provided civil and structural engineering services on an extra care housing facility in Gloucestershire, which was shortlisted for the prestigious 2016 Housing Innovation Awards.
The scheme was an innovative joint project between the Homes and Communities Agency, Forest of Dean District Council, Gloucestershire County Council, Rooftop Housing Group and Heritage Care.
Dora Matthews House comprises 45 one and two-bedroom apartments for older people with a care need, and designed to support those living with dementia. At the rear of the site is a court of 5 two-bedroom dormer bungalows for adults with learning difficulties.
Infrastructure design was undertaken sympathetically due to significant variations of site levels as was the drainage design, which was the primary concern to the local residents at the time of planning.
